GLICO Healthcare donates GH¢100,000 to support childhood cancer treatment at Korle Bu
GLICO Healthcare has marked the conclusion of its 20th-anniversary celebrations with a significant donation of GH¢100,000 to the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The funds, presented to the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana initiative, are aimed at bolstering efforts to treat children with cancer and improve patient care at the country's premier medical facility.
The donation was made during a brief ceremony at Korle Bu, with GLICO Healthcare’s leadership emphasising the importance of corporate support in the fight against childhood cancer.
The company’s Board Chairman, Professor David Ofori-Adjei, described the donation as a vital part of GLICO Healthcare’s long-term strategy to enhance pediatric oncology services.
“This donation will support families who face financial difficulties, ensuring that children can continue their cancer treatments without interruption. We are proud to contribute towards the Lifeline for Childhood Cancer Ghana’s project to build a 40-bed treatment centre, which will expand access to life-saving care for many more children,” Professor Ofori-Adjei remarked.
The GH¢100,000 donation comes as the culmination of GLICO Healthcare’s anniversary activities, which included health screenings, a health walk, and a blood donation exercise. These events were organised to highlight the company’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the country.
The CEO of GLICO Healthcare, Maame Afriyie Boachie, reflected on the company's mission. “As we close our 20th-anniversary celebrations, this donation reinforces our commitment to accessible healthcare. Partnering with Korle Bu in support of childhood cancer treatment aligns with our goal of providing innovative healthcare solutions to Ghanaians,” she said.
The CEO of GLICO Group, Mr. Edward Forkuo Kyei, also emphasised the importance of public-private partnerships in tackling healthcare challenges.
