Love comes alive with 'Rekindle Love with Graphic Showbiz'

IT had been billed as an event to help couples bring back the spark in their relationships and the Rekindle Love with Graphic Showbiz on Valentine ended up doing just that for patrons.

The event, which took place from Friday, February 14, which was Valentine’s Day to Sunday, February 16, at the Sogakope Beach Resort & Spa, was such a success and some of the couples who took part have asked for it to be an annual affair.

Some of the couples who spoke with Graphic Showbiz indicated that the experience and memories had been well worth the GH¢1,000 package.

One couple, Mr and Mrs Abotsi said they were overwhelmed by the package and would encourage other couples to participate in subsequent editions.

They were particularly happy about the Love Talk segment which they disclosed had added to their knowledge.

Mrs Hagan, another participant said she was more interested in putting into practice some of the new sex positions she had learnt during the relationship talk.

"I've also learnt that relationships should be spontaneous and as partners, you should talk more and also be there for each other. Again, you should spend a lot of time together and always make your partner a priority," she stated.

Mr and Mrs Tsepkor were so excited to have taken part in the event. In the words of Mrs Tsekpor, who was heavily pregnant, the trip was a "great relief" for her.

"I'm happy I brought my wife with me because it has been a great opportunity to rekindle our love and to build a stronger bond.

Besides, my expectations were met too and I enjoyed the cosy ride with a motorcade that helped us beat the hectic traffic," Mr Tsekpor said.

The couples left Accra at nearly 6p.m. on Friday and arrived at the Sogakope Beach Resort & Spa at almost 8p.m.

The tired patrons, many of who came from work, were welcomed by smartly dressed and pleasant staff of the resort who helped them with their luggage but not before they had been treated to a traditional welcome drink of coconuts.

By 9 p.m., they had freshened up and ready for dinner by the pool along with the Love Talk. The venue had been decorated with red balloons to mark the Valentine and the food, a variety of both local and continental dishes, was in abundance, accompanied by live band music from the  Women of Colour band led by Della Hayes.

Relationship speaker, Abena Magis (microphone in hand) was a hit with the couples

The Love Talk was aimed at helping couples rekindle their love and relationship speaker, Abena Magis who delivered the talk was obviously the highlight of the night.

Della Hayes and the Women of Colour band were great

The social media influencer took the couples through some of the essential things needed to reignite their love including the positive impact of effective communication.

However, it was the sex talk that generated the most interest among the couples. After getting lessons on some sex positions to spice up their sex lives, some of the couples also shared their experiences.

From dinner, it was straight to the Movie Night and the couples were treated to The Perfect Picture: 10 Years Later by Shirley Frimpong Manso which capped the Friday night activities.

Saturday's activities began with a gym session before breakfast followed by a boat cruise where passengers jammed to great tunes and that was so exciting.

It was more of a mini party on the boat and obviously a great time for the couples to bond. After the boat cruise, there were other recreational activities including swimming, water sports, table tennis and snooker.

The boat cruise was great.

Lunch came right after and the couples had to say goodbye to the Sogakope Beach Resort & Spa which had been their escape for almost 24 hours. There was another trip from Saturday into Sunday, February 16 with patrons enjoying a similar treatment.
