Drake leads BET Awards 2023 with 7 nominations

The nominees for this year’s BET Awards were announced on Thursday, June 8 and Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Drake is leading with seven nods including best male hip hop artist, album of the year and best male R&B/pop artist.

Nominations were selected by the BET Voting Academy, comprising an esteemed group of entertainment professionals and influencers in the fields of music, media, digital marketing, sports journalism, public relations, and creative arts.

Some African music giants such including Burna Boy, Tems, Asake and Camidoh were nominated in various categorie.

Ghana’s Camidoh took a bold place in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category. He is contending against Asake (Nigeria), Camidoh (Ghana), Flo (UK), Libianca (Cameroon), Maureen (France), MC Ryan SP (Brazil), Pabi Cooper (South Africa), Raye (UK) and Werenoi (France).

The BET Awards 2023 will air live on BET on Sunday, June 25 at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
