Selina Boateng to headline Hallelufesto
Much has not been seen and heard of her this year but come Wednesday, January 1, gospel singer, Selina Boateng will be in full swing as she headlines this year’s Hallelufesto at the St. Paul Methodist Church in Tema Community 1.

Organised by the Methodist Students and Associates Fellowship (MESAFEL), a youth wing of the Methodist church, Hallelufesto, which is an annual programme has had many gospel artistes who have performed on its platform and as Selina takes to the stage, she is expected to lead the congregation through a time of praise and worship for an expectant successful new year.
Themed “Shabach”, the programme which begins at 3:00pm will see the winner of Artiste of the Year award at the second edition of the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards (GGIA), minister and get the people to sing along to some of her popular songs like Medofo Pa and Minku Meho.
Host choirs, Treasured Possessions and Potter’s Clay will also minister through songs on the day. The Mesafel Alumni Choir, Nana yaw Boakye, Gifty Awuku and Laud D’Poet will be the support acts on the day.
Aside music, there will also be other activities including drama, poetry and choreography.
Since its inception in 1994, Hallelufesto has served as a platform for evangelism and as a means to reach out to the youth to win them over to dedicate their lives to God.
Initially it was organised and patronised by members of the Methodist Church but has since grown to become non-denominational with a mission of winning souls for Christ through the words of salvation.
Hallelufesto, is held on the New Year’s Day every year, and has remained one of the shows that residents of Tema look forward to as it also provides opportunity for students to partake in career guidance and counseling and to celebrate talents.

Proceeds from this year’s event will be used to support about 1000 residents of Borjiorkorpe community in the Volta Region who will be registered with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
