Walking to celebrate mothers
As part of activities to mark this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations, leading chiropractic and wellness hub, Nova Wellness Centre (NWC), in conjunction with Fitvolution Ghana , a fitness and healthy nutrition company is organising a 7 kilometre run/walk to promote healthy living among all mother figures and the general population as well.

Dubbed 7kForMom, the run/walk, starts from the premises of Nova Wellness Centre, adjacent Sunny FM, at Ridge, on May 14th 2016.
Commenting on the upcoming event renowned chiropractor, and CEO of Nova Wellness Centre, Dr. Mrs. Naa Ashely Dordor said the walk/run is a different way of celebrating every woman playing the role of a mother.
According to her, it is very important for mothers and the public to have time in keeping the body frame in shape, adding that the best gift every child can give to a mother is to stay healthy and strong for her.
“For us at NWC, we are focused on helping members of our communities achieve maximum health and wellness. We want to empower more people to take full responsibility of their health, and this is one of the means. There are exciting packages for mothers and participants,’’ she said.
Mother’s Day is globally commemorated annually to honour motherhood.
On her part, Lead Fitness Coach at Fitvolution, Bernice Maabena Antwi, said the event will be used to enlighten individuals on lifestyle diseases acquired through traditionally accepted practices and inactivity.
“A healthy son or a daughter, she said is something every mother will be proud of. This activity is to remind the public that healthy lifestyle is attainable for everyone,” she said.

Attendance is free, there will be aerobic exercise, public screening and exhibition of products by sponsors, stated, adding that the walk/run starts from 5.30am, and those who will love to join or sponsor can call the telephone number 0233563008.
This second edition of such activities by the two health and fitness organisations following a successful one on the International Women's Day.
