The meeting was held at the instance of the DG at the GES headquarters to discuss the content of the report of the Administration Investigative Committee set up to look into the death of the deceased O’reilly student.

The suspect was identified as Godwin from the General Arts class. He has been arranged before a La District Court and remanded into police custody.

The two parties, the GES and the family have agreed not to publish the content of the report in the media.

It would be recalled that on Monday, September 2, 2024, Godwin was reported to have stabbed Master Sackey to death.

Godwin was subsequently arrested by the police, while the GES instituted an administrative investigation into the death of Master Sackey.

The committee was given two weeks to submit its report to the DG of the GES.

Meanwhile the GES pledged its continued support to the school but added that far-reaching steps would be taken to forestall similar incident from happening in that school.

It has therefore assured the general public and parents in particular to remain calm, adding that the measures being put in place were robust to ensure a conducive environment for the students.

Also at the meeting were some senior management members including the Deputy Director-General, Quality and Access Dr Kwabena B. Tandoh, the Financial Controller, GES Apostle Dr Christian Koramoah, the Director, General Administration, GES Justina Djabah, the Head, GES Legal Unit Cynthia Storph-Tagoe and the Greater Accra Regional Director of Education Stephen Abamfo as well as the Senior Programme Officer, Guidance and Counseling Unit, GES, Roland Takyi.
