Accra Marriott Hotel illuminates season with sustainable spark at Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Accra Marriott Hotel ushered in the festive season with an enchanting evening of music, dance, and sustainability at its highly anticipated Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday December 7, 2025.

This year’s celebration was a dazzling fusion of tradition, artistry, and innovation, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to community and environmental consciousness.

The evening commenced with a heartfelt opening prayer and reflection by H.E. Archbishop Daniel Kabore, setting a tone of gratitude and unity.

Guests were then serenaded by the rich, classical baritone of Patrick Acqmens, followed by soul-stirring harmonies from the Accra Marriott Hotel Choir and the ethereal voices of Harmonious Chorale, whose angelic melodies evoked the true spirit of Christmas.

Adding a contemporary twist to the festivities, the Mandy Fouracre Dance Academy at Pippa’s Health Centre, captivated the audience with modern and ballet interpretations of holiday classics—an artistic spectacle that blended elegance with innovation.

The evening was masterfully hosted by celebrated MC Jerry Adjorlolo, whose charisma kept the audience engaged as Santa and his merry elves delighted children with gifts, while adults joined in the excitement of a festive raffle draw. Fashion visionary Aisha Ayensu, founder of Christie Brown, shared inspiring reflections on the brand’s collaborative journey with Marriott throughout the year, underscoring the synergy between hospitality and haute couture.

Guests were treated to an overflow of gourmet refreshments, exquisite canapés, and a curated selection of drinks, ensuring the evening was as indulgent as it was memorable.

The centerpiece of the celebration was a remarkable sustainable Christmas tree, crafted from 2,000 repurposed glass bottles salvaged during the hotel’s HVAC renovations—a striking symbol of Marriott’s dedication to environmental stewardship and creative reuse.

“This year’s tree is more than a decoration; it’s a statement,” said Deepak Kanyal, Acting General Manager, “It embodies our commitment to sustainability while celebrating the beauty of transformation.”

The Accra Marriott Hotel Tree Lighting Ceremony continues to be a beacon of festive joy, cultural expression, and responsible hospitality bringing together community, creativity, and conscience in one sparkling location.
