Isaac Ocran was found hanging in an uncompleted building about 20 metres from his house at about 4:30 pm on Tuesday by workers who had sent some building materials to the site.

The two workers allegedly cut the rope and rushed him to the Effia Nkwanta Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Presbyterian JHS was thrown into shock Wednesday when news of the death of Ocran, described as one of the most brilliant students of the school, broke.

The Station Officer of the Adiembra Police Station, Chief Inspector Anobaah Odoi, who confirmed the incident to Graphic Online said, a security officer at the hospital reported to the police at about 6 pm on Tuesday that a  boy with a mark of a rope on his neck had been brought to the hospital.

He said the police had visited the uncompleted building to take some evidence to help in their investigations.

According to the mother of the deceased, Madam Theresa Cudjoe, a second-hand clothes seller at Market Circle, Ocran boycotted classes on Tuesday after she gave him two lashes for his refusal to adhere to her instructions to part company with some of his friends.

She said she left for the market without seeing his son and gave his pocket money to the grandmother to be given to him.

Madam Cudjoe said the family got to know of the incident after the two workers raised an alarm after finding his body hanging.
