ECG works to restore power after Tuesday rainfall

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has assured the public that efforts are underway to restore power following outages in parts of Accra caused by a severe rainstorm on Tuesday, March 25.

In a statement issued on March 26, ECG attributed the disruptions to damage inflicted by the storm, which affected sections of its power distribution network, leading to electrical faults and service interruptions.

"The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of Accra and its environs yesterday evening (25th March 2025) has caused some outages within our network," the statement read.

ECG disclosed that a team of engineers has been deployed to assess the extent of the damage and carry out necessary repairs to restore power as quickly as possible. The company has urged affected customers to remain patient while restoration efforts are completed.
