Anna Bossman receives book on Ghanaian diaspora
A Ghanaian based in France, Mr Michael Osei-Mensah, has called for the creation of a Ministry of Foreign Lands and establishment of two subsidiary parliamentary seats for Ghanaians resident in each of the world’s continents.
He said the two creations would give new energy and strength to the government’s commitment to the great pool of Ghanaians in the diaspora.
Mr Osei-Mensah is a Founding President of the Organisation of Ghanaians Abroad (OGHA) and President of the Ghana Community in France (GHACIF).

He made the assertion when he presented a copy of a book he wrote, titled, Call for a Ministry for Ghanaians in Foreign Lands, to Ms Anna Bossman, Ghana’s Ambassador to France and Portugal, at a meeting at the Ghana Embassy in France.
Expertise
Mr Osei-Mensah also presented a copy of the book to Mr Adjavor Bonaventure, Minister in Charge of Diaspora and Deputy Head of Ghana Mission in France and Portugal, who was present at the meeting.
According to Mr Osei-Mensah the book proposed present-day ideas and policies that could serve as mechanism to spearhead development in Ghana in the foreseeable future.
He was of the belief that Ghana could achieve distinctive marks in her democratic dispensation leading to improved participation of its citizens in the diaspora to the country’s development if proposals in his book were adhered to.
“Those of us in the diaspora can put our expertise and experiences at the country’s disposal in order for it to develop fast,” he said.
Remittances
According to Mr Osei-Mensah, besides sending remittances to their families, relatives and friends back home, Ghanaians in the diaspora also made substantial investments in various communities in the country.
Both Ms Bossman and Mr Bonaventure congratulated Mr Osei-Mensah for his work on Ghanaians in the diaspora.
