Make efforts to live in godliness - Apostle Obuobi charges ministers’ wives
The General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost (CoP), Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, has charged wives of ministers of the Gospel to make every effort to live their lives in godliness.
He said when one became born again, the person received the seed and Spirit of God planted in them and that what was left was for them to train themselves to live in godliness.
He said with godliness, they would, among other things, not stumble or fall, be fruitful and effective in the things of God and the upbringing of their children to also impact the world.
"So the pastor's wife, the minister's wife, has a responsibility to make every effort to live in godliness. The responsibility is not on God alone. The Holy Ghost will help us, but we have a responsibility to live in godliness," he emphasised.
Apostle Obuobi said this in a sermon last Wednesday at the opening of the 2025 Ministers' Wives Conference of the CoP at the Pentecost Convention Centre at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.
The three-day event was on the theme: "The Godly Woman Unleashed To Transform Her World".
Apostle Obuobi said once the wives of ministers were godly, they would use whatever they had acquired to train their children, who would also grow up to impact their world for God.
He said the transformation agenda that had been given to the church could only be carried out by men and women who were godly.
"Our ministry life is to be built on godliness. Our marital life is to be built on godliness - every aspect of our Christian life," he said.
Godliness, Apostle Obuobi said, was not an option to be considered.
Reminder
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the CoP, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, said the theme served as a reminder of the church's theme for the year and highlighted the unique roles they (women) were called to play as ministers’ wives in pursuing the agenda of possessing the nations.
From the theme, he said topics to be looked at includes the Pastor’s Wife and her Marital Life, Fire on the Family Altar, the Godly Woman and Her Bible, the Godly Woman and Prayer, the Pastor’s Wife Serving for Eternal Rewards, Supporting Your Husband’s Ministry, Healthy Living and the Minister’s Wife and Hospitality, as well as other ministerial and family life issues (pastoralia).
Fellowship
"This conference promises to be a rich blend of fellowship, teachings and prayer, meant to generate the needed outcome - a godly woman who supports her husband to take generations for the Lord.
