OMCs urged to be transparent in dealings
The Board Chairman of the National Premix Fuel, Nelson-Rockson Dafeamekpor has cautioned Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) to be transparent in their operations with the secretariat and ensure that every allocation made to them get to the people at various stations they are meant for.
Mr Dafeamekpor, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Dayi Constituency, and the Majority Chief Whip, made the call recently at a meeting with party faithful in the South Dayi Constituency.
He said the government was serious in addressing issues regarding premix adding that President John Dramani Mahama, was doing everything possible to lessen the burden on Ghanaians.
He said the marketing companies should not delay, as far as their supplies to the stations were concerned, adding that punitive measures awaited people who diverted the products, since systems were put in place to tract activities from the loading points to the delivery stations.
" In the past, many things had gone wrong and we are here to correct them.
The premix fuel is meant for the fisherfolks across the country, and we will make sure fuel supply is made available for their businesses to thrive," he said.
Mr Dafeamekpor, said the fishing industry was a major and vibrant sector which was very important to the government and would make sure any cruel activity that would derail the gains would be nip in the bud.
He said, currently, 28 Oil Marketing Companies were officially registered adding that only 13 allocations and 1,532 trucks were currently understaking distributions, saying “there are some challenges which we are working to reslove to ensure smooth operations”.

He, therefore, urged the party grassroot to unite and rally behind the party, in spite of the current hiccups urging them to continue to explain the government’s policies and development agenda to people.
