Mouse halts payment of salaries at Legon

A MOUSE halted the payment of the September salaries of the workers of the University of Ghana, Legon in 1994.

A source at the finance office told the Ghana News Agency in a publication in the Daily Graphic that a mouse crept into a computer which was being used in handling the preparation of the salaries of the university, and ate up certain components.

When the computer was switched on, it could not function and therefore a computer mechanic was called in, and when he opened the computer for repairs, a mouse was found dead through electrocution.

A spokesman for the university authorities told the Daily Graphic that the finance office however completed work on the voucher, and that payment of September salaries was effected.
