La-Palm hotel trains staff

A mentorship and leadership training workshop has been held for staff of La-Palm Royal Beach hotel in Accra. Staff at all levels of the hotel, underwent training to equip them with new trends and changes within the industry, especially with the ongoing developments and rebranding of the hotel.

The training workshop for senior management was facilitated by Mr Edwin M. Gbekor, Director of the Mentor General Programme.

Briefing the media at the close of the programme, the Human Resource Manager of the hotel, Mrs Lorraine Nyarku, explained that the senior staff were taken through mentoring, consulting and coaching.

She said the course touched on areas such as active listening, leadership qualities and style, communication at work and interpersonal skills.

For the junior staff, she said, they received training on team building and customer service skills to equip them with improved quality service delivery.

Mrs Nyarku said the hotel attached great importance to the training of its human resource in order to stay ahead of competition in the industry.

For her part, the acting General Manager, Mrs Marigold Mingle, indicated that the workshop was held in line with the hotel’s ongoing refurbishment and upgrading of key areas .

“With the ongoing facelift of the hotel, staff at all levels ought to position themselves well to meet the challenge of the day.  All these are geared towards delivering quality service through an empowered staff,” she said stressing that.

Mrs Mingle commended the staff for their enthusiasm at actively taking part in the workshop and urged the team to put their best foot forward.
