Man remanded over alleged cutlass attack on brother and wife in cashew farm dispute

The Berekum Circuit Court has remanded Emmanuel Yeboah into police custody for allegedly attacking his brother and sister-in-law with a cutlass during a dispute over a cashew farm.

The court remanded Mr Yeboah into custody when he appeared before it on Tuesday on charges of attempted murder and causing harm.

He is expected to reappear on January 12, 2026.

The Bono Regional Police Command arrested Mr Yeboah on January 3, 2026, after a report was made about an attack that left two people injured.

According to the police, preliminary investigations showed that Mr Yeboah is alleged to have waited for his brother and the brother’s wife while they were on their way to the disputed cashew farm.

The incident is believed to have resulted from a long-running disagreement over ownership of the farm.

Police officers retrieved a cutlass from the scene. The two victims are receiving treatment at a health facility.
