National Service Authority boss vows to end “Posting Contractor” scams
The Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has announced a sweeping reform agenda aimed at eliminating the corrupt practice of so-called “Posting Contractors” within the institution.
In a post on Facebook addressing the matter, Mr Gyamfi condemned what has become known as “Special Postings” or “Repostings”—a practice in which individuals advertise their services, collect payments from prospective National Service Personnel, and promise them placements in preferred institutions that should otherwise be freely and fairly accessible to all.
He described the practice as criminal and damaging, stating that it undermines the integrity and fairness of the entire National Service posting system.
Mr Gyamfi pledged to clamp down on the practice, labelling it as fraudulent, immoral, and utterly unacceptable. However, he was quick to clarify that genuine repostings, which are sometimes necessary for legitimate personal or institutional reasons, would not be obstructed.
“I didn’t promise to stifle genuine Reposting, because having worked at National Service for over a decade, I know there is also always genuine Reposting that needs to be done on different grounds,” he added.
He further revealed that over 3,000 repostings had already been processed under his supervision, in consultation with all relevant stakeholders to ensure fairness and transparency.
“I am hopeful that from this unsettling morning will emerge a practice where we will have all concerns brought forward before Postings are released by the NSA in the months ahead,” he said.
To accommodate the ongoing changes, Mr Gyamfi announced that the registration period would be extended by several weeks to allow all Service Personnel to register and begin their service without exclusion.
He urged anyone facing challenges to make use of official communication channels to resolve their issues.
“I assure you, I have no ill intentions or malice towards anyone, although one might not get it right at times, my intentions are honest and genuine,” he assured.
Mr Gyamfi reaffirmed his commitment to deploying Service Personnel to communities where their welfare and security are protected. He emphasised the critical role of National Service teacher trainees in rural schools, warning that any disruption in their deployment could significantly affect educational outcomes.
“The National Service Teacher trainees remain the backbone of these rural schools; to wake up to a situation where they have all disappeared will gravely affect learning outcomes in these communities,” he added.
