The equipment included disposable examining gloves, infrared and digital thermometres, dust masks and gumboots.

The donation was part of Perseus Mining Ghana’s efforts to assist health institutions in the Western and Ashanti regions where the company has operations, with Ebola personal protection equipment to aid in combating the disease in the event of an outbreak in the country.

The equipment, worth GH¢35,000, went to the Dunkwa Government Hospital, the Pentecost Hospital in Ayanfuri and the Wassa Akropong District Hospital.

Madam Arthur said the district health directorate would intensify education on Ebola as a means of getting the people ready to respond to the disease if it should break in the country.
