Students of the Komenda College of Education Friday staged a demonstration calling for the removal of the college’s bursar.

They accused the bursar of misappropriating the college funds, extorting monies from students, and charging unapproved fees.

They also stated that there was no financial transparency at the administration.

The agitated students clad mostly in red and black attire boycotted classes and marched through the campus carrying placards with inscriptions including "Why Diploma bi expensive than degree, "Bursar must go" and "Release our SRC dues to us".

High Fees

According to the students, they were paying more fees compared to students of other colleges.

The students said the latest of such unapproved levies was the demand that each student paid 30 cedis for lawns.

They said it was worrying that the students appeal to the school’s administration on such unapproved fees had fallen on deaf ears.

Meanwhile the College's Principal was said to be in a crunch meeting on the situation.
