The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East in Greater Accra, Naser Toure Mahama has passed on.
The 60-year-old member from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) side is a native of Kue in the Nkwanta South District of the Oti Region.
He reportedly died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a period of illness.
It was his fourth term in Parliament, having entered the House in 2013 representing the people of Ayawaso East.
He is expected to be laid to rest on Monday [Jan 5] in line with Islamic customs.
A Janazah prayer will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the constituency office located on the Kanda Highway. The prayer will be led by the National Chief Imam.
After the prayer session, the body will be taken to the Madina Cemetery for burial.
