He highlighted the progress achieved under the NPP’s administration, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, education, health care and economic reforms, stating that Dr Bawumia, as a key figure in the government, was the right person to build upon those achievements.

"Dr Bawumia has been instrumental in shaping the policies that have transformed our country. He is the right person to consolidate the gains made by the NPP and lead Ghana to even greater heights," he said.

Durbar

President Akufo-Addo was speaking at a durbar at Damongo as part of his tour of the Savannah Region last Monday.

The tour is to thank the people of the region for their support and cooperation during his tenure and solicit their support for the NPP Presidential Candidate.

Visionary leader

He said Dr Bawumia had played a key role for the achievements of the government and that he "understands the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and has the vision to continue the NPP legacy of development, stability and growth".

"Dr Bawumia has good ideas for the growth and development of the country. I have no doubt about his competence because I have worked closely with him for the past 16 years," he said.

He said the Savannah Region had witnessed massive development since its creation for which reason they must endeavour to give the NPP another term in office to bring more development to the people.

Massive development

For his part, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, thanked the President for initiating many developmental projects in the region.

"In addition to the creation of this region, Mr President, you have brought unparalleled development to the region and we appreciate that, and we will never forget your efforts," he stated.

Mr Jinapor assured the President that the people of Savannah Region would come out in their numbers to vote for Dr Bawumia as the next president.
