Bole-Bamboi MP provides rural constituents with means of transport

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi constituency in the Savannah Region, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana has supported some communities within his constituency with tricycles to help address the transportation challenges faced by the people in accessing healthcare and education.

The beneficiary communities, Bodi, Bobonti, Dikpa and Chache are remote and hard to reach areas received a tricycle each to facilitate the smooth transportation of school children to and from their communities to school and also the sick to the nearest health facilities.

It is also to assist in the transportation of farm produce from the beneficiary communities to marketing centres.

Presentation

Alhaji Yusif who is a National Democratic Congress MP who handed over the tricycles to the beneficiary communities on Saturday, May 9, 2020 said the gesture is in fulfillment of a promise he made to his constituents who resided in some remote communities where vehicles hardly plied there to enable them have means of transportation to move freely to access education and healthcare in nearby communities and also cart their farm produce to the marketing centres.

He appealed to the beneficiary communities to take good care of the tricycles to extend its lifespan and for the benefit of all, especially school children and the sick.

He pledged to continue to help lessen the plight of his constituents through the judicious use of his share of resources for MPs to improve their standard of living.

COVID-19

The MP for Bole-Bamboi used the occasion to remind the people to adhere strictly to the safety protocols given by health experts on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to prevent community spread such as washing their hands regularly under running water with soap, the wearing of nose marks, the use of hand sanitizers and avoiding crowded places in order not to be infected by the virus.

Beneficiaries

A beneficiary from Bodi, Mr Elijah Danguma, who received them on behalf of the other beneficiaries commended the MP for the gesture and pledged that they would use them for the intended purpose and ensure their regular maintenance to prolong their lifespan.
