'I feel loved' — Matthew Nyindam thanks Kpandai constituents after Supreme Court ruling

The Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Mathew Nyindam, has thanked constituents Kpandai for their unwavering support after the Supreme Court overturned a High Court decision that annulled his win in the 2024 parliamentary election, describing his reinstatement as both a victory for the people and a renewed call to serve.

He said the warm reception he received following the Supreme Court’s 4–1 decision quashing the Tamale High Court ruling was a clear demonstration of the trust and confidence the people of Kpandai repose in his leadership.

In November 2025, the Tamale High Court annulled Mr. Nyindam’s election and ordered a rerun.

However, the MP challenged the decision at the Supreme Court, which subsequently overturned the ruling and reinstated him as the validly elected Member of Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Addressing party supporters in Kpandai after returning from Accra, Mr. Nyindam said the apex court’s verdict reflected both the will of the people and divine purpose.

“I feel deeply loved and humbled by the reception from my people. It affirms that the victory they gave me in 2024 was based on my work, which the Supreme Court has now confirmed,” he said.

He described his reinstatement as a moment of joy and renewed responsibility, stressing his determination to work harder to meet the aspirations of his constituents.

Despite being in opposition, Mr. Nyindam assured residents that he would make prudent use of his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund to support development in the constituency.

“Every cedi of my common fund will be used judiciously to develop Kpandai. I will also continue to lobby government and ministers—many of whom are my friends—to support development in the area,” he said.

He added that the youth of Kpandai possessed enormous potential and deserved equal access to national opportunities, stressing that Ghana belonged to all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.

Calling for unity and peace, Mr. Nyindam urged residents of Kpandai to rise above political differences and work together for the progress of the constituency.

“We are one people and one family. I will continue to serve without discrimination because unity is what brings development,” he emphasised.

Meanwhile, the NPP Constituency Chairman, Mr. Kennedy Jato, called on party delegates in Kpandai to use the upcoming Saturday presidential primaries to reward Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his support and encouragement to Mr. Nyindam during the legal process.

According to him, a strong vote for Dr. Bawumia would be a show of appreciation and a step towards returning the NPP to power.

Mr. Jato said the ruling should bring finality to the dispute and shift attention towards unity, peace, and collaborative efforts to close Kpandai’s long-standing development gaps.
