Nduom heads for W/R
The Flag bearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has said the poor sanitation and drainage problem in most parts of Accra has made the city lose its prestige as the capital of Ghana.
He has, therefore, given an assurance that his leadership will use four years to address all the sanitation problems in Accra and other parts of the country facing similar problems.
Addressing a rally at Odododiodoo in Accra to end his two-day campaign tour of the Greater Accra Region, he said President John Mahama's inability to properly address the sanitation issues "makes him unqualified to be given a second term."
"President Manama doesn't deserve a second term because he has failed the people of Accra. The city has lost its spot and now Accra cannot even boast of being the capital," he said.
If elected, Dr Nduom said, he would fix the drainage and sanitation problem to make life in Accra better for the residents.
"I will make sure that all the water bodies in Accra are protected and transformed to meet the standard of developed nations such as London," he stated.
Dr Nduom addressed separate rallies at Obom, Ablekuma and other constituencies where the party has massive support. He also introduced his parliamentary candidates to the electorate.
Dr Nduom is heading for the Western Region to begin his three-day campaign tour.
Don't let them use you
Dr Nduom told the youth in Odododiodoo to be wary of manipulative politicians who "think they can use money to influence the youth to cause trouble."
He said Odododiodio was a peaceful town and that the youth ought not allow politicians to dent the image of the town.
"Do not follow troublesome politicians. All they can do is to give you money and ask you to go and cause confusion. Be careful because they do not care about your safety," Dr Nduom said.
He said Election 2016 was the right time for Ghanaians to choose a leader with a vision to implement sound policies to improve the well-being of the people.
According to him, he was the only contender with the track record and competence to create jobs and enhance the living conditions of the people.
"Do not go to the polls to elect someone who has nothing to offer you. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have nothing to offer Ghanaians. You have given them the time and resources to help improve your life but nothing fruitful has come out of it," Dr Nduom said.
He said he had no doubt that Ghana could become the "envy of the rest of the African continent" under his leadership, adding, "All I need is your vote to make that happen."
