East Ayawaso MCE commends Kenstep Group for community development in Nima

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of East Ayawaso, Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, has paid a working visit to the offices of the Kenstep Group of Companies to officially acknowledge and commend the company’s long-standing contributions to the development of the Nima community.

Led by Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Kwame Asare, the Kenstep Group comprises several subsidiaries including Kenstep Limited, Ghana Base Management, Kenstep Microfinance, and Alpha Lotto. It is regarded as one of the largest employers within the East Ayawaso municipality and a key supporter of various community upliftment initiatives.

Mr Ibrahim, who assumed office earlier this month following his nomination and confirmation by the Assembly, described the visit as one of his earliest official duties and an important gesture to recognise the value of public-private partnerships. “This visit is not just symbolic; it is a testament to the value we place on partnerships,” he said. “Kenstep has consistently gone above and beyond in giving back to the people of Nima. As a representative of the people, it is only right that I come in person to thank you for the immense impact you have made on the community and explore ways we can collaborate further.”

Over the years, Kenstep Group has undertaken several community-centred projects in Nima, including road infrastructure improvements, public health campaigns, community clean-up exercises, educational scholarships for underprivileged students, and seasonal donations during Eid, Christmas, and Easter.

Welcoming the MCE and his delegation, Mr Asare — a native of Nima and a former footballer for Santos FC during the 1980s and 1990s — reaffirmed his commitment to the community. “We are deeply honoured by your visit,” he said. “Nima is my home. Everything I am today began here. Giving back is not a favour—it is a responsibility. Kenstep will continue to invest in the people of Nima and partner with the Assembly where needed.”

The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Municipal Assembly to familiarise itself with the broader scope of Kenstep Group’s operations, which span finance, logistics, construction, real estate, lottery, and hospitality.

Mr Ibrahim, accompanied by senior officials of the Assembly, praised Kenstep Group’s civic engagement and affirmed that the Assembly remains committed to supporting private sector organisations that contribute meaningfully to local development. “We see in Kenstep a model of corporate citizenship. This is exactly the kind of synergy we need between local government and private business to truly develop our communities,” he noted.

Both the Assembly and Kenstep pledged to strengthen their collaboration, with upcoming plans to jointly implement community-focused development projects. As the East Ayawaso Municipal Assembly rolls out new initiatives across the municipality, Kenstep’s involvement is expected to remain instrumental, reflecting its strong presence and legacy in Nima.
