Youth group roots for Ntim

Mr Stephen NtimYouth For Development (YFD), a youth group sympathetic to the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has mentioned Mr Stephen Ntim, 48, as the best among other candidates aspiring for the position of the next National Chairman of the NPP in the party’s upcoming national and regional officers’ elections, should he contest.

In a survey conducted by the YFD, Mr Ntim leads with 75 per cent, leaving behind possible contestants – Mr Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey, 20 per cent and Mr Paul Afoko, five per cent—at the second and third positions, respectively.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic in Kumasi, Mr Edmund A. Kyei, who led the survey, said the survey, which began in early September, immediately after the verdict of the Supreme Court, revealed that Mr Ntim was the next potential national chairman should he vie for the position.

He said in the survey, Mr Ntim was rated as more respectful, hardworking, down-to-earth, Godfearing, truthful and visionary among other qualities of a good leader.

Mr Kyei also indicated that the survey suggested that should Mr Ntim contest, he would win because he had the acumen to unite footsoldiers of the party and was also capable of mapping up strategies for the party’s victory in 2016 general election.

He said the survey also suggested that Mr Ntim, who hails from the Brong Ahafo Region, was endowed with distinct leadership skills with which he could whip up more votes for the party in the region.

He added that Mr Ntim would perform exceedingly well if elected the national chairman of the party.

Mr Kyei said it was the wish of the YFD that delegates would vote for Mr Ntim, should he contest, based on his distinctive characters.
