According to him, the prospect of discovering a young player cast in the mould of the former Black Stars midfielder  influenced his decision to come to Ghana this year.

He told the Grpahic Sports yesterday in Accra that he was always delighted to watch the Ghanaian midfielder during his playing days with Udinese in Italy.

The 78-year-old, who arrived in the country last Friday was invited by Ghanaian-based football organisation, FW Sports Consult.

“Sulley Muntari is one of the best African players I have always loved to watch and have in my team. His individual team spirit and involvement are fantastic and I am in Ghana to hopefully find a kind of him before I go,” he stated.

“I could go to any other country this year but my team and I decided to come to Ghana.

In Italy the most African talented players are Ghanaians including Muntari and Appiah and I hope to get what I want”, he added.
