VIDEO: Man arrested after viral video shows him drunk in Police uniform begging for a smoke

The Police has arrested a man at Antoakrom in the Manso Nkwanta District of the Ashanti Region for unlawfully possessing and wearing a police uniform without proper authorisation.

According to a police statement, the suspect, identified as Osei Kwame, popularly known as “Nsafufoo,” was seen in a video appearing intoxicated while clad in a police uniform.

The arrest follows the circulation of the video on social media, which showed the suspect being physically confronted by two men. In the footage, the men accused him of scheming to have them arrested. Kwame on his part is heard pleading with them, stating that he is not there to arrest anyone and only wants something to smoke.

The incident has sparked concerns about the unauthorised use of police uniforms and its implications for public trust and security. The police have not yet revealed how the suspect acquired the uniform but have assured the public that investigations are underway.

The suspect is currently in custody and assisting with investigations.
