President Mahama receives customised golf clubs ahead of 2026 Head of State Invitational Tournament

President John Dramani Mahama has received a customised set of golf clubs from organisers of the 2026 Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament as preparations gather momentum for the prestigious international event later this year.

The symbolic presentation was made during a courtesy call on the President by officials of Head of State Golf Incorporated ahead of the tournament scheduled for November 28, 2026.

The delegation was led by Francis Andoh and included members of the planning committee such as Nana Antwi Darkwah, Michael Aggrey and Maud Akosiwa Agbolete.

During the engagement, the organisers officially briefed President Mahama on preparations for the upcoming tournament and reiterated their commitment to using the competition as a platform to promote golf tourism, diplomacy and corporate networking in Ghana.

The President reportedly welcomed the initiative and commended the organisers for sustaining a tournament that continues to attract international attention while projecting Ghana’s image on the global golfing stage.

He also acknowledged the growing role of golf in fostering relationships among business leaders, diplomats, policymakers and sports enthusiasts.

The specially designed golf set presented to the President was described by organisers as a symbol of the partnership between the Presidency and the organisers of the Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament.

The 2026 edition of the tournament is expected to attract golfers, diplomats, corporate executives and invited guests from several countries, reinforcing the competition’s status as one of Ghana’s notable sports and networking events.

Organisers say this year’s tournament will place strong emphasis on international participation, tourism promotion and business engagement, while continuing efforts to position Ghana as a preferred destination for golf events and sports tourism within the region.

The Head of State Invitational Golf Tournament has over the years evolved beyond a sporting event into a platform for strengthening diplomatic and commercial relationships through sport.

With preparations intensifying ahead of the November event, organisers say the 2026 edition promises to deliver a memorable experience for participants and stakeholders from both Ghana and the international golfing community.
