The Ghana High Commission in Pretoria is still in the process of compiling details of Ghanaians in South Africa who have expressed a desire to return home following the latest wave of xenophobic attacks against other African nationals in that country.
There was a planned evacuation last Thursday, May 21, 2026 via a special chartered flight but it was deferred at the 11th hour.
It is unclear when they would be airlifted to Ghana.
