Accra Hearts of Oak striker, Cosmos Dauda, has described today's Premier League clash with Aduana Stars in Accra as the determiner for their title challenge.

Dauda, who has endured a quiet campaign with Hearts this term, said the Phobians were keen on beating the league leaders today to throw the race for the title wide open, with just four games to end the season.

Black Stars to miss Raphael Dwamena

Ghana’s Black Stars were hit by a blow yesterday when young enterprising striker, Raphael Dwamena, was ruled out of Friday’s crucial FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier against Congo at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The outgoing hardworking Western Regional Sports Director, Kwame Amponfi Jnr, has handed over the baton to Jeffrey K. Manzan Owusu from Greater Accra to continue from where he left off on August 14.

Adubea bangs in 5 goals - In 10-2 thriller

If there is anything constant in this season’s National Women’s League (NWL), it is goals which rained during the 12th week fixtures, with last season’s top scorer, Princella Adubea, leading the harvest.

Adubea scored five of the 10 goals to power defending champions, Ampem Darkoa, to a 10-2 mauling of Real Upper Ladies in their thriller on a weekend that recorded 33 goals.

Adubea, who won last season’s top scorer award with 16 goals, could surpass that target after scoring nine goals in just two successive matches. Last week, she scored four goals in Ampem Darkoa’s 5-0 win against Prisons Ladies.

Jordan, Partey open accounts in Europe

It was a good weekend for Ghanaian internationals, Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey, as they opened their accounts in Europe for their clubs ahead of Sunday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo in Kumasi and the return clash in Brazzaville next week.

Black Stars sure of double victory over Congo

Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, is brooding over the absence of his new-found striker, Raphael Dwamena, but has assured Ghanaians of victory in the double-header against Congo at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday and in Brazzaville next Wednesday.

Dwamena was named in Coach Appiah’s 23-man squad but had to be excused because of a conflicting medical report threatening his prospects of playing in the English Premiership.

Keep fit clubs embark on Homowo Walk

Staff of Obonu TV, a subsidiary of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), joined keep fit clubs within the Ga-Adangbe communities for the annual Homowo Health Walk last Saturday in Accra.

The Ghana Minigolf Federation (GMF) has named a squad of a record number of 20 golfers for their maiden appearance at the World Mini Golf Championship in Croatia starting September 10.
 
The President of GMF, Talal Fattal announced the squad comprised of 19 men and one woman today (September 29) in Accra, describing it as the largest contingent from among the 36 countries who will participate in the Championship.

Binatone International Unity Skate Soccer Saturday

The national skate soccer team, the Rolling Rockets, are scheduled to lock horns with their Togolese counterparts in a Binatone International Unity Skate Soccer Cup match at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 2.

The competition which is organised by Binatone under the auspices of the International Federation of Skate Soccer (IFSS) is targeted at improving the Rolling Rockets ahead of an African championship to be hosted by Ghana in March next year.

Brighton still searching for striker after failed Raphael Dwamena transfer
