Hearts Coach Ouattara disappointed after loss to Nations FC

Hearts of Oak head coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, expressed his disappointment following their 1-0 defeat to Nations FC on Thursday in a rescheduled Week 21 Ghana Premier League match.

The game, held at the Tuba Astro Turf, was decided by a stunning long-range goal from Black Stars defender Razak Simpson, who scored from 45 yards in the second half.

The loss marks the fourth consecutive match without a win for the record FA Cup holders, leaving the Ivorian coach visibly frustrated.

In his post-match interview, Coach Ouattara acknowledged that Nations FC deserved the victory, while reflecting on his team's inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities.

“I told you before the match that Nations FC is a strong team. Unfortunately, today we lost to a well-organized side. We did everything we could, but it’s the same problem we’ve been facing. We struggle with finishing our chances. We accept the loss, but we know we didn’t perform well and missed several opportunities,” he said.

As a result of the defeat, Hearts of Oak dropped to 6th place in the league standings, with 37 points from 24 games. Meanwhile, Nations FC climbed to 4th place with 39 points.

Hearts of Oak will look to bounce back in their next Ghana Premier League match against former champions and two-time FA Cup winners, Medeama SC, on Sunday, 6 April.
