The heavy scoreline notwithstanding, the KNUST team have to win their next three matches to dethrone Silver as the league title chase intensifies.

Amankwah scored in the 21st, 61st and 65th minutes as the ruthless university team never looked back in the 70 minutes of play. Alex Meat, Bryan Amakye and Samuel Okyere added their names to the scoresheet as Royals chased their shadows throughout the game.

Enterprising Frimpong Anderson, however, pulled one back for Royals in the 49th minute, completing a fast break.

Second-placed Seniors kept the chase on Silver with a 2-1 win over Unique, while the league leaders dropped their first three points after losing 1-2 to Bibiani.

Wallace Ababio, who has been off the radar for sometime now, and Felix Serbeh, scored for Seniors, while Victor Alabi netted for Unique.
