At the ATTF’s elective congress held on October 15 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Mr Afadzinu triumphed over Uganda’s Robert Jjagwe, securing 22 votes to 18 for the prestigious position.

Known for his expertise in brand transformation, Mr Afadzinu is set to lead the rebranding of the ATTF, turning it into a more viable and sustainable organisation.

“Together, we will transform the African Table Tennis Federation into a dynamic, globally recognised brand, attracting increased investment and generating sustainable revenue streams, while positioning table tennis as a leading sport across the continent,” Afadzinu stated following his election.

He emphasised that sport, as a catalyst for global development, will drive positive change within the 54-member federation, enhancing the vibrancy of table tennis in Africa.

“By showcasing the ATTF as a beacon of youth empowerment, community development, and social change, we will use our beloved sport to unlock opportunities for growth, partnerships and development across Africa,” he added.

Mr Afadzinu, who also chairs the Sustainability Committee of the International Table Tennis Federation, is the current Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Administrator of the Year.
