Stay focused, Black Stars — Glo
Globacom, sponsors of the Black Stars, has urged the senior national soccer team it has sponsored since 2008, to stay focused in order to close the round with a convincing victory over Zambia and earn a deserved ticket for the World Cup play-off.
Ghana and Zambia clash in the final leg of the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi today.
In a message dispatched to the Stars camp through the GFA, the management of Glo Mobile Ghana, the Ghanaian subsidiary of the African telecoms giant, said it had followed with admiration the national team’s rare display of determination and spirited flair throughout the series of group qualifiers for the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
‘Your show of tenacity and tactical discipline in the face of ferocious challenges on and off the pitch, especially during your last two games played away from home and your eventual assumption of leadership of Group D, has set you up as the obvious favourites in this crucial encounter,’ the statement said.
‘Here at Glo, we are convinced that no matter what your opposition, the Chipolopolo of Zambia, conjure on the field of play, if our players, the coach and his technical bench stay focused, the Black Stars will emerge victorious.’
‘‘We use this opportunity to welcome Michael Essien, Kevin-Prince Boateng, and Andre Dede Ayew back into action and like most Ghanaians, Glo believes that their return will spice up the Black Stars game and toughen the team in every department of the game,’’ the message concluded.
