Ecobank, Adansi Travels partner to promote tourism

Ecobank Ghana has entered into an agreement with Adansi Travels to offer discounted financial support to travel enthusiasts willing to explore the globe as part of efforts to promote the tourism sector in the country.

Dubbed, “Travel Now Pay Later,” the innovative credit facility is to offer travellers and tourism enthusiasts an opportunity to access up to $5,000 to cater for their travel expenses with a flexible 18-months repayment plan.

The credit facility is aimed at making travel more accessible to a wider range of people, promote local tourism and support the economy in general.

Flexible repayment

Launching the new credit facility for travellers in Accra, the Head of Consumer Product at Ecobank Ghana, William Danso Abeam, stated that the credit facility sought to offer an opportunity for many people to travel with a flexible repayment terms and discounted rate of 25 per cent.

He said the innovative facility was designed purposely to enable customers to enjoy travel packages/tickets and pay back within the agreed period.

He said this was put together by Adansi Travels and Ecobank Ghana.

“At Ecobank Ghana, we are known for creating convenience for our customers and we also ensure that we can support them to achieve their dream.

And so, this solution was designed to offer people the best opportunity to travel to various destinations in Ghana, West Africa and other parts of the world. The offer of up to $5,000 with a flexible repayment plan makes travel more accessible to a wider range of people,” he said.

He added that the offer was opened to customers of the bank.

Growing tourism

The Chief Executive Officer of Adansi Travels, Gideon Asare, noted that the partnership between the two institutions was highly significant to help grow the tourism and travel industry in the country.

He explained that the collaboration also promotes financial inclusion by providing travel financing options to individuals who may not have had access to such services before.

He explained that the initiative would help boost economic activity by ensuring that more people get the opportunity to travel, generate revenue for airlines, hotels, and local businesses, and stimulate economic activity.

“The parties sought to use the initiative to showcase Ghana's tourism potential by encouraging travel. The partnership highlights Ghana's unique cultural heritage, natural beauty, and attractions, promoting the country as a desirable tourist destination.

“Adensi Travels is well established when it comes to traveling and its been doing this for 11 years,” the CEO added.
