eTranzact launches XCEL App to revolutionise Ghana's financial sector
A financial technology company, eTranzact Ghana Limited, has unveiled a new Fintech solution to provide an inclusive service that will transform the Ghanaian financial sector.
The app, known as XCEL Ghana mobile app, has been designed for all manner of person, including business owners, students, professionals, or someone managing day-to-day finances.

Speaking at the launch on Thursday evening, September 19, 2024, the founder of the company, Dr Valentine Obi, said the main goal of the app was the desire to democratise access to financial services in the country.
“We understand that the future of payments lies in the hands of the people, and our role is to provide the tools that make financial transactions seamless, secure, and accessible to all,” he said.
He said the XCEL Ghana app is designed to offer inclusive financial services for a diverse audience, including business owners, students, and professionals.
“When we envisioned XCEL, we were not just thinking about a mobile app; we were thinking about how we could empower individuals, businesses, and communities across Ghana and beyond. Our mission is simple: to create a financial platform that not only meets the needs of today but anticipates and solves the challenges of tomorrow,” Dr Obi explained.
For him, at the heart of XCEL is the desire to democratise access to financial services, saying “We understand that the future of payments lies in the hands of the people, and our role is to provide the tools that make financial transactions seamless, secure, and accessible to all.”
He said the XCEL app had been designed for all manner of persons—business owner, a young professional, or someone managing day-to-day finances.

Touching on the EXCEL app, Mr Obi said “What sets XCEL apart is its versatility” and that “through our platform, users can manage their GH-Link prepaid cards, make digital payments, and access a host of financial services—all from one application.”
In addition, he indicated, “We are not just offering a solution for today's needs; we are creating a foundation for the future,” pointing out that “XCEL is the bridge that connects traditional banking methods with the digital economy, ensuring that users continue to benefit from their physical GH-Link cards while enjoying the convenience of digital transactions.”
For him, the purpose of the app goes beyond the boundaries of a simple mobile app, saying “We believe in financial inclusion, where every individual, no matter their location or economic status, has access to the tools they need to manage their finances effectively.”
He said the XCEL Super App will evolve continually, integrating new technologies and features that will redefine how financial services are delivered.

He indicated that the company plans to simplify digital development in the country with the XCEL App, saying “In the coming months, we will be unveiling new innovations and partnerships, all designed to enhance the financial experiences of individuals and businesses.”
