He noted that effective project management was of concern in Ghana and pointed out that there was a challenge in adhering to good planning processes.
“As a nation we need to build national capacity for project management such that it does not just become an individual skill but an organisational issue that will enable us have a better understanding of risk management issues around projects” he said.
Mr Bempa said gradually, as they engage stakeholders, they would be able to send the right information to support them to be able to build that capacity will support national projects, be it in the area of construction, agriculture, oil and gas, and services industry.
PMI has since its inception in Ghana in 2011 trained about 100 people from different organisations and has recorded an increase in demand for training in PM.
“At PMI Ghana Chapter one of main things we are trying to do is to promote project management excellence at the individual and organisation level, and hopefully to be able to influence national agenda, as well as project management is concerned,” he explained. GB
