Mark Aniadaga, Chief Executive Officer of Teckurban Consult Ltd, has been honoured as Best CEO in the Geospatial Technology category at the 8th Ghana Industry CEO Awards, earning national recognition for his leadership in applying geospatial innovation to sustainable development.
The award highlights Aniadaga’s role in promoting technology-driven urban planning both in Ghana and abroad. Teckurban Consult, which specialises in geospatial solutions and urban development consulting, has expanded its project portfolio under his leadership to include major initiatives in Ghana and the United States.
Speaking after receiving the award, Aniadaga said the recognition belonged to the entire Teckurban team. “This award is not just a personal achievement, it is a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration,” he noted. He added that the company viewed geospatial technology as “more than maps and data; it is a tool for shaping inclusive, resilient and sustainable communities.”
Aniadaga’s international work has earned him widespread acclaim. He previously led the “Renewing the Heart of Phenix City” redevelopment project in Alabama, a role that won him the 2022 Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Planning Association’s Alabama Chapter. He also ranked seventh on Patch.com’s list of Alabama’s most influential community leaders.
His portfolio includes the Montgomery Highway Corridor Revitalization Plan in Dothan, Alabama, and multiple projects in Atlanta where he developed GIS dashboards to support the management of 3.7 million dollars in housing stabilisation tax relief. He also designed digital tools to address urban blight and improve community-level planning.
Aniadaga holds a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning and a graduate certificate in GIS from Auburn University, alongside a planning degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is also a member of the American Planning Association and the Georgia Geospatial Association.
His latest award reinforces his standing as one of the leading Ghanaian professionals shaping the future of geospatial technology and urban development.
