Shakira unveils official 2026 FIFA World Cup song 'Dai Dai' (VIDEO)
Colombian pop superstar Shakira has unveiled the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 49-year-old global hitmaker, known for chart-topping songs such as Whenever, Wherever and Hips Don't Lie, teased her new track Dai Dai on Thursday as the anthem for this summer’s tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Shakira shared a one-minute teaser video on Instagram filmed at Maracanã Stadium in Brazil. The song, which is set for release on 14 May, also features Nigerian Grammy-winning star Burna Boy.
This marks Shakira’s second official World Cup anthem following the massive success of Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
She also recorded La La La (Brazil 2014) for the 2014 tournament and performed it during the closing ceremony in Rio de Janeiro.
Shakira, who shares two sons with former Gerard Piqué, previously performed Hips Don't Lie at the closing ceremony of the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Her home country, Colombia, is among the teams competing in the expanded 48-team tournament scheduled to run from 11 June to 19 July.
