Oro Oil Ghana Limited’s Executive Director, Mr. Commey Nii Maxwell, has been recognised for his exceptional leadership in the palm oil industry, receiving a citation and several honours at the 2025 Ghana’s Most Respected CEO Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Mr. Maxwell’s citation praised his influence in shaping the modern corporate landscape, stating that he has “redefined the role of the modern CEO beyond profit to purpose.” It further commended his leadership approach, which demonstrates that “sustainable corporate success and tangible national development” are mutually reinforcing goals.

The award formed part of the eighth edition of the event organised by the Business Executive Group, which attracted prominent personalities from Ghana’s business community. This year’s ceremony highlighted the critical role of private sector leaders in advancing economic diversification, particularly in agriculture and agro-processing.
Oro Oil Ghana Limited congratulated Mr. Maxwell on the achievement and reiterated its commitment to maintaining high standards of excellence and sustainability in palm oil production.
In his remarks, Mr. Maxwell expressed deep appreciation to his team, partners and the Board of Directors for their consistent support, describing the recognition as a shared victory.
Mr. Maxwell, who serves as Chief Executive Officer of Oro Oil Ghana Limited, leads an integrated agro-industrial company focused on the cultivation and processing of oil palm in the Eastern Region. His vision is to position the company as a leading force in sustainable palm oil production in West Africa, driven by operational excellence, international best practices and strong stakeholder engagement.
Under his leadership, Oro Oil has earned multiple national gold and silver awards for crude palm oil exports. His emphasis on strong corporate governance, integrity and effective human relations has contributed significantly to the company’s growth.
With more than 25 years of experience in industrialisation across Europe and Africa, Mr. Maxwell also serves as a Board Member of the Tree Crop Development Authority and is a National Executive Member of the Oil Palm Development Association of Ghana. He has been instrumental in job creation, providing over 300 direct and indirect employment opportunities in various communities.
