He calls this one, Mama Africa and it features Congolese artiste, Gizy Manora.

The artiste, who is signed on to Jay Ghartey’s J.H Brothers Record label and singer, Ofie Kodjoe’s One Nation Entertainment, both of which assisted him to release his four singles last year is hopeful of an appreciable progress on the music scene with Mama Africa.

The song which he describes as “Afro hiphop” is a description of the features of African women and extols their virtues of being phenomenon.

A blend of R&B and hiphop, Mama Africa which was recorded by Pee Weezy at Ashormang estates depicts how many African men appreciate their women as the two proudly sing about their African women.

While Gizy Manora sings about how his African woman is sexy, A.J rather talks about the intelligence of his African woman on Mama Africa as the latter’s punchy rhyming rap verse combines to make the track a catchy item.

“I did this song in appreciation of the African women whose exploits in our society have been underrated. Personally, I think that African women stand tall among their compatriots from the other parts of the world. We need to celebrate them” he told Showbiz last week.

A.J Nelson, real name, Adjei Mensah, describes his music as hip hop soul. He blesses his stars for meeting Jay Ghartey who he says has helped him to mature into a good artiste.

He entreated Ghanaian artistes to be original and project the African image and culture through their music.

He told Showbiz that he has abandoned his preference for “blinks blinks” to the wearing of Kente clothe because he wants to use his brand to project his cultural roots.

Mama Africa will be premiered on Live FM’S Entertainment Live with Antoine Mensah on Saturday, June 14, and on Campus Express on YFM the same day.
