At the music industry awards
For the second year running, Okyeame Kwame has prised away the very competitive Songwriter of the Year award from a strong list of nominees. Last year, it was Okyeame Kwame’s Faithful that did the trick. This year it has been his song Sika that has done it for him.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Industry Awards night which came off last Friday at the Oval Room of the Alisa Hotel serves as a prelude to the main event scheduled for next Saturday May 18 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
At the exclusive buffet dinner event, 10 awards were given away. Efya who won the Record Of The Year with The Best In Me, Akoo Nana picked the World Bank Music for Development award, Kaywa won Sound Engineer of the Year, pride of the North Sherifa Gunu was adjudged as Traditional Artiste of the Year while Gyedu Blay Ambulley went home with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
