Durbar climaxes Ngmayem festival

Dr Seidu Danaah (right), Minister for Chieftaincy and Cultural Affairs greeting Nene Nornor Sordje V, Acting President of the Shai Traditionla Area.After a number of activities to mark the annual Ngmayem festival, the Chiefs and people of Shai Traditional Area of the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region polished it all off with a grand durbar last weekend.

The festival under the theme "Advancing Together  In Development" was an opportune time to call on government to initiate strategic plans to maintain peace in the protracted chiefteincy problem in the area.

The Minister for Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs, Dr Seidu Danaah urged  the chiefs and people to ensure that peace remained paramount in their daily lives to serve as a  catalyst for development.

He appealed to them to value their rich cultural values and use them to attract  investors to develop their area.
