One of such artistes is rapper and singer, Edem. He has released a new single and he calls this one Koene. Koene in the Ewe language means give.

Recorded by Magnom Beats, Koene features Zambian rapper, Cleo Ice Queen of Big Brother Africa fame and Lil Shaker.

On Koene, Edem is heard encouraging both men and women to give off their best when they get on the dance floor. The video of the song, directed by Phamous films is currently being aired on TV.

As part of his plans to get his name out there in other African countries, Edem told Showbiz last week that his ambitious side influenced his decision to feature Cleo Ice Queen on Koene

He said he aims at getting his brand on the international market with his yet to be released album, Books and Rhymes.

In a bid to make his yet to be released album acceptable to the public, Edem organised a focus group discussion a forthnight ago which attracted some notable faces like Mark Okraku Mantey of Slip Entertainment and actress, Ama K Abebrese.

The purpose of the gathering was to get fans of Edem to select the best 23 songs from a collection of songs likely to make up the new album.

“Surprisingly, my fans dropped most of the selections of Hip-Hop because they thought it was too hardcore”, he stated.

On why the much anticipated album has not been released, Edem told Showbiz that he is working to bring out a very good album for his fans. “ Coming out with something very good has contributed to the delay of Books and Rhymes but it will be launched in September”.

“I’ve done collaborations with artistes from the U.K, Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa and Kenya and this new album when released will reveal the new Edem brand made for the international market,” he addedd.
