Fennec was a good man
Everyone who knew Fennec Okyere, the young artiste manager and music industry advocate who was shot dead by unknown gunmen last week Thursday in his home, says that Fennec was a good man who did not deserve such violent and early death.

Some of his friends, business partners and acquaintances Showbiz had a conversation with last weekend paid glowing tributes to his memory, singing in unison about how selfless he was and how they were going to miss him.
According to Mikki Osei-Berko of Taxi Driver fame, “Fennec was the main reason I moved from U.K to settle back in Ghana and I cannot count the number of times he has helped me since I came back.
“I got to know Fennec in 2003 when I was a presenter at Happy FM. I enjoyed working with him because; he is hardworking, generous and always willing to learn.
“Since I came back to Ghana he has helped me with endorsement adverts from MTN and Castle Milk Stout which I remain grateful for. I am going to miss such a wonderful guy he said.”
Member of Parliament and Human Rights Advocate, Ursula Owusu- Ekuful was still in shock when she spoke with showbiz about her “son”. She said, “I called him Emma even though many knew him as Fennec. I have known him since 2001 and due to his well behaved manner, I invited him to live with me for many years when I moved out of my father’s house.
“We discussed almost everything together and he gave me the best pieces of advice that no one could give me. Until he got married and moved to his house, he was always with me.
“Even though he is gone, he still remains in my heart and I don’t think I can ever forget him. He is hardworking, kind and generous. May his soul rest in peace. Fennec I love you, wherever you are, she said.”

To Eugene Osafo Nkansah of Peace FM there is no one who can make him feel the way Fennec did. “He me made me feel very important. He is full of ideas and wanted to make an impact in the entertainment industry. Anytime he got something new, he would call me to come over or he came to me.
“I have known Fennec since 2003 and as students of Trans African College who read the same course and I can say Fennec was an intelligent student who always made good grades. I am happy that since I introduced Kwaw Kese to him, he has helped him to build such a strong brand,” he added.
Abeiku Santana of Okay FM described Fennec as hardworking and a focused person who knew what he wanted in life. “He was the one who made me move from Adom FM to Okay FM. My relationship with him goes beyond just a friend; In fact, I don’t know how I am going to live without him. I did not believe the news when I first heard it until I saw his lifeless body in his home. Fennec, I know God has gotten a place for you in Heaven,” he added
“I have not been myself since the death of Fennec Okyere, my only true brother who was always there for me” said movie producer, Socrate Safo.
“It was in 2003 when I came in contact with him at the Kotoka International Airport when Mikki Osei-Berko was leaving to UK. I barely knew him but when I was advising Mikki to always stay focused on whatever he did, he also took the advise and later came to tell me that I made an impact on his life and since then, we have become more than brothers.
Kiki Banson described Fennec, with whom he has shared a long friendship “a good man and very aggressive for the right reasons. He always believed in success through hard work. I have known him for 10 years and liked him the very first day I heard him speak.
“I don’t have much to say but Fennec is one of the best people I have ever come across,” he said.
Kelvin Aggrey, manager of the Dome said he cannot describe Fennec enough in one whole day. “As manager of the Dome, when Fennec came on board as a team member he brought a lot of ideas which yielded good results.
“In fact, his contribution to whatever decisions I have taken have always worked. I like him for his positive attitude towards work.”
Radio presenter Dr Cann said, “although he was young, he was full of ideas and always went in for the best no matter how much it took. He launched Kwaw Kese’s album twice on my show and it was so nice. I have dealt with him a number of times and I can simply say he is one in a million”.
Kwaw Kese himself, who was still deeply saddened, would not say a word when he was contacted.
