Get our official name right- MoTCCA clarifies amidst widespread confusion

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has issued a clarification on its official name, citing public confusion stemming from multiple references to the Ministry by different names in the media and public discourse.

In a press release signed by Mabel Delassie Awuku, Head of Public Relations, the Ministry has emphasised that its official and legally recognized name is indeed the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA).

The Ministry explained that the name reflects its renewed mandate to integrate the creative arts industry as a core component of Ghana's cultural and tourism development agenda, which is in line with its original name at the time of its creation. 

The Ministry has therefore urged the public, particularly media houses, to take note of the clarification and refer to the Ministry by its official name in all official communications and references.

CLARIFICATION ON THE OFFICIAL NAME OF THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM, CULTURE AND CREATIVE ARTS (MoTCCA)

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) seeks to address and clarify the public confusion surrounding its name.

Management has noted that the Ministry is being referred to by multiple names across various media outlets and in public discussions.

We wish to state emphatically  that the  official  and  legally  recognized  name of the Ministry  is:

MINISTRY OF TOURISM, CULTURE AND CREATIVE ARTS (MoTCCA)

This name reflects the Ministry’s renewed mandate to fully integrate the creative arts industry as a core component of Ghana’s cultural and tourism development agenda. It also reinstates the original name of the Ministry at the time of its creation.

We kindly encourage the public, especially media houses, to take note of this clarification and refer to the Ministry accordingly in all official communications and references.

We remain committed to promoting Ghana’s rich tourism, cultural heritage, and creative industries in line with the vision of national development and cultural pride.
