Ghanaians react to alleged breakdown of amounts Bullet paid artistes who performed at Ebony tribute

Ghanaians have been reacting to an interview granted by the father of late dancehall artiste Ebony who is currently at war with the former manager of his deceased daughter.

In an interview with GhOne, Ebony's father, Nana Opoku Kwarteng reads from a handwritten breakdown that he claims was given to him by the artiste's manager Ricky Nana Agyemang aka Bullet after Ebony's tribute concert.

According to Mr Kwarteng, Bullet claims he paid GH₵4,000 in facilitation to media men as well as performance monies to musicians who performed at Ebony's tribute concert.

Watch the interview below;

He said Bullet informed him that artistes including Edem, Kɛchɛ, Ras Kuuku, Captain Planet, Coded, R2Bees and Rachel all received monies for performing at the tribute held in honour of the singer who died in an accident.

How much each artiste allegedly received;

Edem - GH₵ 3000

Kɛchɛ - GH₵ 3000

Raskuku - GH₵ 1500

Captain Planet - GH₵ 2,000

Coded - GH₵ 1000

R2bees - GH₵ 3,000

Raquel - GH₵ 1000

Artistes including Coded, Kɛchɛ and Captain Planet have in separate statements denied receiving any monies from Bullet to perform at the concert.

The disclosure marks the latest chapter in the breakdown of the relationship between Mr Kwarteng and Bullet since the death of Ebony on February 8 this year. The singer died in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway together with a friend Franklina Maame Yaa Tebua Nkansah alias Franky Kuri and a soldier, Lance Corporal Atsu Vondee.

Earlier this week, Bullet disclosed that he had handed a trove of the singer's unreleased songs to her father after Mr Kwarteng accused him of retaining a large chunk of the profits accrued from a tribute concert held in Ebony's honour.

Mr Kwarteng alleged that Bullet gave him GH₵ 2000 out of GH₵ 39,999 profit he made from a tribute concert held in her honour.

He stressed that although he doesn't need Bullet's money, Bullet should have been truthful to him.

“The funds they raised, I was only told so I demanded accountability. I also wanted to be sure because rumours had it that Kasapreko had given me GHC90,000 for the concert and funeral, which they announced. So I approached Kasapreko for clarification if they have given me that amount of money, which I didn’t know of”,

“From the concert, all I know is after the deductions that were made by Kasapreko I was showed a photocopy of a cheque worth Ghc 39,999”, he added.

“But Bullet brought me Ghc2,000. I have made my life, I have my own money my daughter’s money won’t add up to mine”, he said.
