Gospel songs shouldn’t be just about God —Aya
ALTHOUGH she knows some of her colleagues wouldn’t agree with her, Gospel musician, Aya, believes the genre should not entirely be all about the things of God.
She thinks there are so many other messages such as corruption, social issues among others that Gospel musicians could relay in their songs to bring about change.

“Personally, I like O J when it comes to things like this. Although he is a Gospel musician, his songs talks about everything. He touches on life and other things and I love that about him.
“I am not saying talking about the things of God is not good but when we move away from it a little bit and touch on drug abuse, pollution of our beaches among others, I believe we can make a great impact”, she said.
Currently, Aya, formerly known as Pepertual Didier is busily promoting her latest single, Edenkema which was featured on BBC 1 Xtra recently.
Talking about how she got her new single played on BBC 1 Xtra, Aya said it was through the hard work of her new management team, adding that the song is also nice so every radio station wants to play it.
“When you have a nice song with a nice beat, you don’t struggle to push it and my latest single, Edenkema is a testimony of it.
“The DJs love it so promoting it is quite easy. Any DJ who hears it want to play it without asking for anything in return,” she added.
