
Highlife artiste Dada KD to be buried on August 16
Ghanaian highlife artiste, Dada KD will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in a state-assisted burial ceremony to be held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.
Following the ceremony, he will be interred in his hometown of Agona Asaaman in the Central Region, with a thanksgiving service scheduled for Sunday, August 17.
The family made the announcement during Dada KD's one-week memorial service at the East Legon Executive Club, which drew scores of musicians, politicians, and sympathizers, including notable figures like Kojo Antwi, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah, and Nana Romeo.
Mourners will observe a black-and-white dress code to celebrate the musician's life.
Dada KD passed away on May 17, 2025, after a short illness. His funeral is anticipated to draw a massive turnout of fans, dignitaries, and fellow artistes from across Ghana, all eager to pay tribute to the iconic musician's enduring legacy in the country's music industry. The death of Dada KD came at a time when he had been billed together with other artistes such as Obrafour, Slim Buster, Kojo Blakk for a show in London on May 25.
Dada KD is best known for songs such as Tekyere Ma, Ene Menye, Wosuro a Wondi, Honey Love among others.
