I'm humbled- Kuami Eugene on Artiste of the Year win
Highlife artiste Kuami Eugene says he is humbled at the honour done him at the 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
On Saturday, August 29, Kuami Eugene was crowned Artiste of the Year at VGMA, taking over from the late Ebony Reigns who posthumously held on to the award for two years, in the absence of a winner in 2019.
The 'Rockstar' also won the Highlife Artiste of the Year at the event, which was held over two days at the Grand Arena at the Accra International Conference Centre.
On Sunday, he posted a picture of him receiving him speaking after receiving the award at the event and captioned it: I’m Humbled 🙏🏾
Thank You Ghana 🇬🇭 Thank You #VGMA. I’ve been a fragment of what Our people fed .

Although many people expressed their disagreement with Kuami Eugene's win, there were several others who agreed that in the year under review, he performed excellently.
Other big winners over the two days of the awards were Kofi Kinaata who won Songwriter of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year and Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year, KiDi who also took home the album of the Year Sugar and Celestine Donkor who won Gospel Song of the Year (Agbebolo) and Female Vocalist of the Year.
Others were J. Derobie for Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year with Poverty, Ras Kuuku won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Sarkodie won Best Collaboration of the Year with Oofeets) and Best International Collaboration of the Year with Lucky.
There were some amazing performances from Adina, KiDi, King Promise and others at the event which did not have an audience. The Industry awards was hosted by Giovani Caleb and Sika Osei while the Public Awards was hosted by Berla Mundi and Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD).
